Self-doubt and inner conflict — two themes that lay in the forefront of the newest release from Texas-based quartet Colorblind. Riding the wave of anticipation of their upcoming debut album, Who Sold You This Truth ++ Was It Yours To Hold, out Aug. 28, the band released the single “Chemical Warfare” on June 26. Action-packed with hard-hitting instrumentals and captivating vocals, “Chemical Warfare” is the perfect song for those dipping their toes into the world of Colorblind.

Formed out of Austin, Texas, Colorblind consists of four members: Travis Moseley (vocals), Tyler Moseley (drums), Justin Page (guitar) and Nicholas Asper (bass). Since 2018, the group has worked relentlessly to release music that they are most proud of, earning themselves millions of streams over the years. The group’s sound is the perfect mesh of metalcore, pop punk and melodic post-hardcore, all while having the unique Colorblind spin that keeps listeners in awe.

“Chemical Warfare,” the fourth track off the debut album, is all about the mental battle with self-perception and the voices in your head. Accompanied by a heavy instrumental and Travis’ signature raw vocals, “Chemical Warfare” is a relatable track that touches on the internal battle that many face.

Travis sings this line in the chorus, with Tyler’s drums picking up flawlessly at the crescendo of the song. This line resonates strongly amongst listeners, as Travis admits his own internal conflict of the voices in his mind having different viewpoints — almost like a war. As the song fades into the second verse, the instrumentals take a soft center stage, allowing for the words to sit with the listener. Page and Asper’s guitars set the softer mood for the verses, the weight of the story hitting listeners right in the chest before the chorus picks back up.

Like “Chemical Warfare,” fans can anticipate the new album filled with tons of emotion; the heavy instrumentals coming together to create a perfectly crafted sound as the band takes on this new chapter in their career — and they won’t stop there.

On and off since 2023, Colorblind has been on the road with various artists, sharing their sound with as many audiences as they can. Playing songs old and new, Colorblind has built hype for the new release, most notably on the Hounds of The Underground Tour where they performed various tracks off the upcoming debut album. Following the release of Who Sold You This Truth ++ Was It Yours To Hold, the band will embark on the Not Broken Enough Tour with Catch Your Breath, alongside other various bands.
