Indigo De Souza, a singer-songwriter from North Carolina, is known for their honest lyricism and vulnerability. De Souza released their fourth studio album, Precipice, in 2025 and has been on tour in support of the album with opener, Mothe. Fans filled the outdoor venue at the Mohawk in Austin, TX, eagerly awaiting the start of the show. It has been two years since De Souza’s last visit to the Austin venue. The show was the fourth-to-last stop on the 23-date tour.
The Houston-based singer, Mothe, stepped on stage to get the night started — pumping up the energy with their catchy alternative pop music. Mothe brought an authentic, humorous presence to the show, especially in their song introductions. During the second half of “Your Orbit,” De Souza joined Mothe on stage dancing and singing together. Mothe went into the crowd jumping and dancing with fans during the final song of the set, “Beat, Drug, Sex, Love,” an energetic end to the set.
De Souza opened the set with “Be My Love” and “Wasting Ur Time.” De Souza took time to connect with the crowd, explaining the stories behind the songs before performing them, which gave space to fully share their art with the audience. They shared that “Crying Over Nothing” was written about a four-year toxic relationship and the realization that it needed to end. With each song De Souza revealed the emotional honesty and vulnerability that resonate deeply with their fans.
Towards the middle of the set, De Souza explained that they do a “crowd drone” where the audience repeats a patterned hum, getting everyone excited for a unique interaction. They got into the middle of the crowd and sang an improv song based on the energy of the night. De Souza said that creating a song with the crowd each night captures a moment that can’t be recreated. The moment felt intimate and immersive, with the crowd’s voices blending into a shared, almost meditative sound. Everyone was soaking in the moment — barely a phone in sight.
For the encore, De Souza sang “Take Off Your Pants,” a song from their 2018 debut album, I Love My Mom. They explained that the song had been embedded in the set and told everyone to pretend that they walked off the stage and came back on, which made the crowd laugh. When the show ended, fans broke out in applause and cheers. De Souza thanked everyone for coming out to the show, expressing gratitude for them buying a ticket.
