From being in a neon-light club with the hyper-pop girlies to moshing in a sweaty basement with the grunge revivalists, 2026 is the year of eclectic musical energy — and women are leading it. These women are pushing sonic, style and storytelling boundaries and are redefining what it means to be powerful in today’s music landscape. Whether they’re selling out tours, going viral online or quietly building cult followings, these are the talented women who are going to inject 2026 with spunk and confidence.
ADÉLA
Slovak singer-songwriter and dancer Adéla was very much born to be solo. After rising to fame on the 2023 talent competition show Dream Academy, she took a step away from the girl group expectations and set out to carve out her own solo vision. Adela independently released her debut single, “Homewrecked,” in 2024, followed by her debut EP, The Provocateur, in 2025. These strikingly bold introductory releases announced an artist who is unafraid of ambition, attitude or experimentation. Intertwining the chaos of hyper-pop with glossy synths, Adéla’s bold presence is bringing the maximalist electropop style to the forefront. In the spring of 2026, she will be bringing that power to the stage as Demi Lovato’s special guest on her It’s Not That Deep North American tour.

XANA
The Canadian, queer pop artist Xana has concocted a sound that is both fearless and dramatically inclined. Her sophomore album, THE SEX WAS GOOD UNTIL IT WASN’T, disregards the natural hesitation that forms when talking about anxiety, relationships and self-discovery. With Xana’s raw and unapologetic bluntness, she blends indie-rock guitars, pop melodies, electro-pop textures and infusions of pop-punk energy. She delivers cathartic tracks that swing between angsty anthems and emotionally explosive moments. Often dubbed “anti-pop,” Xana and her genre-bending musical approach are punching their way through the new year and we don’t care if we get hit.

JESSE DETOR
The rising Minneapolis artist Jesse Detor powerfully crafts anthemic indie/pop-rock tracks that feel both nostalgic yet urgently modern. Her signature mixture of ‘90s alt-rock grit with modern pop-punk energy channels a daring “girlrock” sound that is rooted in female empowerment. With confessional lyrics about growing up, relationships, loss and the messiness of youth, Detor has been gaining momentum through electric live shows, viral TikTok moments and EPs like It Wasn’t Supposed to End Like This. Her voice hits with hard-hitting honesty — an honesty that the music scene needs more of — and Detor is the one to give it to us in 2026.
