THE IVY AND LYNCS LINK UP ACROSS NORTH AMERICA
Born out of Oklahoma City, The Ivy began their musical journey together releasing original tunes based in synth-pop, with a touch of indie. Ever since they met, the two-piece friendship and chemistry blossomed. Over the course of eight years, their discography has grown and shaped itself with a wide variety of moods and emotions. Continuing to develop their stage presence, they have landed opening slots for popular acts such as LANY and The Band CAMINO. Their debut album, A Door Still Open, released in February of 2024, features addicting songs such as “Broad Shoulders” and “Street Dog.” Lead singer and guitarist, Wyatt Clem, and bassist and synth master, Shawn Abhari, teamed up with American artist, Lyncs, for a new collaboration: “Don’t Fall Asleep To This.” The new upbeat and dynamic single is a gorgeous display of indie rock and uniquely bright textures.
Crave Music Magazine was able to catch The Ivy live in concert at X-Ray Arcade, with support from fellow musician Lyncs. Her melodic voice paired with a delicate and friendly presence was absolutely embraced by this crowd. Lyncs started off the night with a short and sweet set. In true Wisconsin fashion, she toted a Harley-Davidson button-up shirt, showing her love for the city. Her energy and aura was radiant on stage. At moments she can be found across the stage head banging with her guitarist and drummer, while at others she is interacting with the fans. A sweet moment was when she made a pinky promise with one of the crowd members, totally making their night.

Opening their set with one of their most popular songs “Hurts Just Right” really set them up for success. With an upbeat track, everyone in the crowd was immediately off their feet and singing along. Their infectious energy fueled the band on stage, and that energy just continued to bounce back and forth throughout the entire night. Their set design held multiple lamps illuminating their instruments, which added a touch of familiarity; like how it feels to come home. Together on stage, Clem and Abhari are constantly at full capacity, interacting with each other and genuinely enjoying their love of performing. The setlist flowed together perfectly from one song to the next with smooth transitions in combination with their own bantering.

For a special moment, Lyncs joined The Ivy on stage to perform their newest collaboration. Their overall exuberance and excitement was infectious. The Ivy and Lyncs are a true pair, with their voices fitting together hand in hand, reacting to each other's body language and harmonies. Together, their indie–pop excellence shines through and this track feels reminiscent of heartfelt, but long distance relationships.

Fittingly, The Ivy worked a cover into their set of a Clairo song. It really matches their sound and they were able to turn it into a version of their own. This pleased the casual listeners in the room from front to back. It was beautiful to see so many fans of all ages enjoying this set, with some younger fans at the front row recording every moment and dancing with their parents.
As The Ivy and Lyncs continue to conquer the rest of North America on their cross-country tour, anticipation continues to build for hearing more from the artists in the near future.
