Lollapalooza 2026 is for the girls — by that, I mean female artists who have already made history, or, are on the way to doing so.
This article is our ultimate guide to solo-female artists, female rock bands and female lead singers who will take this stage this year at Chicago’s iconic Lollapalooza.
CHARLI XCX: This year’s Lollapalooza is set to be Charli XCX’s first U.S. festival performance of 2026, and we are so ready for it. Her newest music is featured in the 2026 film Wuthering Heights directed by Emerald Fennel. While it is unclear how history books will appear twenty years from now, the summer of 2024, also known as brat summer, was a moment in history. It was so iconic, a movie was made about it: The Moment, distributed by A24 and directed by Aidan Zamiri, documents Charli’s experience with the industry prior to brat summer. Charli XCX’s Lollapalooza set in 2026 will definitely be one for the books.
TATE MCRAE: So Close To What, Tate McRae’s third studio album, catapulted her into the modern pop-star universe, with a first place ranking on the Billboard 200 chart. McRae, aside from being a talented singer and songwriter, spent most of her life as a trained dancer, going on to win third place of the 13th season of So You Think You Can Dance. McRae is originally from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and is 22 years old.
LORDE: Lorde recently released her fourth studio album, Virgin, and has well established herself in the alt-pop world with her nostalgic music. Pure Heroin (2013) is truly a timeless album. Lollapalooza will be one of many stops on her 2026 festival run, as the Kiwi artist is set to headline Oshega in Montreal after her time in Chicago, and then many festivals in Europe after that. OLIVIA DEAN: Olivia Dean released her sophomore album The Art Of Loving in September 2025 and has quickly risen to fame with her addictingly unique beats and delicate yet soulful vocals. East London raised, Dean just took home the GRAMMY for Best New Artist. Following the release of her album, she is set to begin a world tour on April 22. The tour will begin in Glasgow, and end in Auckland, New Zealand in mid October. On top of Lollapalooza, Dean will spend four consecutive nights at Madison Square Garden, and four consecutive nights at The O2 in London.
JENNIE: JENNIE rose to fame with the K-pop quartet, BLACKPINK. Outside of the girl group, she released her first solo album in 2025 titled Ruby, following a feature in HBO’s The Idol, and collaborations with Dominic Fike, Dua Lipa and Childish Gambino. Outside of her musical career, JENNIE also happens to be a fashion icon. Her chic balletcore style gained her a global ambassador role with Chanel.
BEABADOOBEE: beabadoobee is an indie bedroom pop sensation. Born Beatrice Laus in the Philippines, Lau was raised in London. Her hit song “the perfect pair,” begins with a rhythmic guitar riff that builds upon itself as she sings. Beabadoobee first rose to prominence when her hit single “Coffee” went viral. Her most recent album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves, is heavily influenced by ‘90s artists like The Cranberries and The Smashing Pumpkins (who will also be taking the stage at Lollapalooza 2026).
ETHEL CAIN: The dark, gothic aesthetic of Ethel Cain has captured the attention of alt-rock fans globally. Preachers Daughter, her third studio album, is a chronological life story of Cain’s life. Her most recent album, Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You, is actually a prequel to Preacher’s Daughter. Cain will surely bring an intimate set that will captivate the crowd with moody visuals and immaculate production design. Fans of Lana Del Ray and Phoebe Bridgers will enjoy her set.
AESPA: AESPA is a k-pop, all female quartet consisting of members Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning. Their first single, “Black Mamba” was released in 2020. Their music combines hip-hop and electronic with a virtual reality twist, creating potential for an insane Lollapalooza set to not miss.
NOT FOR RADIO: Not For Radio is the solo project of María Zardoya of The Marías. Zaryoda wanted to challenge herself to make a project that resonated with her personally, and she went into it with the intention of not writing any pop songs. Her debut album Melt features Zardoya’s unparalleled, dreamy vocals, but it is more focussed on the experience one has while listening to music, and really tapping into the feelings that surface from doing so.
MUNA: MUNA is a dark-pop band based in Los Angeles whose music holds space for the complex realities of life. Katie Galvin, Naomi McPherson and Josette Maskin make up the trio, and they are openly queer. Their newest album, Dancing On The Wall, which McPherson produced, is set to release on May 8 — giving fans just enough time to learn every word before the festival. Two singles have already been released, one titled “Dancing On The Wall” and the other “So What”. Dancing On The Wall will be MUNA’s first album after a six year hiatus.

ZARA LARSSON: Many people know Swedish singer Zara Larsson for her sensational hit, “Lush Life,” which peaked in popularity in the U.S. in 2016 and has had a major resurgence as of late. Lollapalooza understood the ‘throwback to 2016’ assignment by having Larsson as a headliner. However, Larsson has a stunning new album, Midnight Sun, that fans should stream before seeing her take the stage this summer.
WET LEG: While editing in my local, obnoxiously trendy coffee shop the other day, “mangetout” by Wet Leg played on the speakers, and I had a feeling from then on that it would become a 2026 indie anthem. Later that evening, a DJ at the bar played it on the dancefloor, and that solidified my observation. The concept of Wet Leg was allegedly born on a ferris wheel, in a conversation between founders Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chamber. “mangetout” alongside “catch these fists” and “davina mccall” are all songs from their sophomore album moisturizer released in 2025. The discography of Wet Leg is playful, sexy and doesn’t take itself too seriously, which makes them eternally appealing.
SUKI WATERHOUSE: Suki Waterhouse is the queen of dream pop, and also a jack of all trades. At age 16, she began modeling Alice + Olivia, then went on to star as Bethany in the movie Love, Rosie alongside Lily Collins and Sam Claflin. Her most recent album Memoir Of A Sparklemuffin was released in 2024, which contains the single “Model, Actress, Whatever.” Waterhouse also played Karen in the hit TV series, Daisy Jones & The Six. Some of my personal favorite songs by Waterhouse are “Neon Signs,” “Moves” and of course, “Good Looking”

Consisting of MIYEON, MINNIE, SOYEON, YUQI and SHUHUA, the group of five are committed to showcasing their true selves through creative freedom and self expression. Wonderlands set at Lollapalooza will be a treat for electronic music fans who love genre blending and a little sound experimentation… because after all, we’re all mad here.
YOASOBI: Yoasobi is a Japanese pop duo based in Tokyo, consisting of singer Ikura and producer Ayase. Together, the duo have revolutionized J-pop in the U.S. From being a part of Coachella in 2024, and Lollapalooza and Oshega this year, Ayase spoke with The Grammys about how Japanese music has historically been hard to access to global fans — until now. Their most recent single “BABY” came out on Jan. 11 and they have also released many English-version songs, some of them on their 2024 album E-SIDE 3.
ADO: Ado is another rising J-pop sensation, who is 23 years old and quite mysterious. Having never revealed her face, her music and silhouette have become a sensation around Japan, and now internationally. Intrigued fans can get a glimpse into her life though, as she just released a book called “Vivarium: Ado and Me.” Fans can also familiarize themselves by streaming her new single “AiAiA” released on March 16.

Prior to focusing on her music, Hobert was a staff writer for Nickelodeon and is known for co-writing a lot of Gracie Abrams songs. Thirlwall’s style is pop inspired, backed by her strong vocals.

DJ TRIXIE MATTEL: Trixie Mattel is turning the third day of Lollapalooza into Solid Pink Disco Saturday, and we are so ready for it. Mattel is of course best known for winning season three of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, but she has since taken a pivot that landed her behind the DJ booth. During the pandemic, Mattel bought a board, began mixing and started taking gigs as soon as she could. Some of her most popular remixes include “Play – Trixie Mattel Remix,” originally by Jennifer Lopez, and recently “Ring My Bell” with VNSSA, which was released in October.

The story began in 2015 with their debut album, My Love Is Cool. 2017 saw the grunge inspired Visions Of A Life, followed by Blue Weekend in 2021.
